Veg Daliya is a North Indian breakfast recipe.
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Daliya (Broken Wheat)
1 chopped Carrot
1/2 Cup Green Peas (Matar)
1 chopped Capsicum /simla mirchi
1/2 cup coliflower
1 chopped onion
1 Tbsp Red chili powder
1/2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp Black Mustard Seeds
1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 Tbsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
1/2 asafoetida
1/2 Tbsp
1 Teaspoon Black Salt, or to taste
3 Tablespoons Ghee
2 Cups Water
Method:
1) Heat 1 Tbsp Ghee in a pan and roast 1/2 Cup of Daliya till it turns light brown in color.
2) Heat 2 Tbsp Ghee in a pressure cooker, and add Mustard Seeds.
when the Mustard Seeds starts to splutter add Cumin Seeds and let them crackle for a few seconds.then add Turmeric Powder and asafoetida.
3) Add chopped onion ,Carrot,Capsicum ,cauliflower,green peas to the pressure cooker and mix well.
4) Then add the roasted daliya to the pressure cooker.
5) Add honey,black salt,red chili powder.mix well all ingredients.
6) Add 2 cup water.Cook the mixture in the pressure cooker till you get 3-4 whistle.
7) Switch off the gas, and then let the daliya cook in its own steam inside the cooker for 2-3 minutes.
8) garnish vegetable daliya with coriander leaves and add 2 Tbsp ghee and serve hot or warm.
