Methamba | Raw Mango Methamba

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 cup Kairi (Raw mango)
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • pinch of Asafetida / Hing
  • 1 tsp Methi seeds / Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Red chili powder for taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery
  • 1 cup Water

Method

  • Take kairi, peel it and cut it into big pieces.
  • In a medium pan, heat oil.add mustard seeds, wait till they crackled. Add asafoetida, turmeric powder.
  • Immediately add mango cubes.add chili powder.mix well then add Water

  • Cover and cook on medium heat until kairi becomes soft for about 7-8 minutes.

  • When kairi is cooked well, add salt and jaggery and mix well.
  • Cover again and Cook for another 5 minutes on medium heat. till sauce thickens.
  • Methamba is already.you can store methamba in air tight jar in freeze.It remains good for about 1-2 weeks.
