- 1/2 Cup Daliya (Broken Wheat)
- 1 chopped Capsicum
- 1 chopped Carrot
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 Cup Green Peas (Matar)
- 1/2 cauliflower
- 1/2 beans
- 1 Tablespoon Rai (Black Mustard Seeds)
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- pinch of Hing
- 1/2 Red chili powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt, or to taste
- 5 Cups Water
- 2 Tablespoons Ghee
Method :
1) Heat 1 Tablespoon Ghee in a pan and roast 1/2 Cup of Dalia till it turns aromatic and light brown in color.
2) Heat 1 Tbsp Ghee in a pressure cooker, and add Black Mustard Seed.When the Mustard Seed starts to splutter add Cumin Seeds then add hing &Turmeric powder3) Add peas to the pressure cooker along with diced Onion ,cauliflower, carrots,beans and Capsicum,Green Peas Mix Well
4) Then add the roasted daliya to the pressure cooker.
5) Add Red chili powder ,salt as per taste,sugar (optional)mix well all ingredient .6) Add 5 cups of water
7) Cook the mixture in the pressure cooker till you get 3 whistle, then turn the flame to off. Open the pressure cooker when the steam has come out. Dalia Khichdi is ready. You can have it plain or with curd, pickle or papad on the side.
