Sabudana Vada is a
crispy delicious snack made by deep frying spiced sabudana
Sabudana vada,
traditionally an ingredient used during fasts, sabudana is a favourite amongst
Maharashtrians.
It's a special snack made during fast / vrat
/ upvaas especially during navratri vrats.
These are light, crispy and taste just yummy..
Ingredients:
• 1 1/2 cup soaked Sabudana
• Chilli-ginger paste (1-2 chillies and 1” ginger)
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• 1 bowl Roasted
peanut powder
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• Salt to taste
Method:
• Wash the sabudana well and soak it in water 1 hr
and Drain the whole water from it. Keep it covered 6 to 7 hrs.
• In a large mixing bowl, take soaked and
drained sabudana and mash well
• Now add roasted crushed peanuts.
• Add chilli-ginger paste ,coriander leaves cumin seeds and some salt to taste.
• Mash well with your hand. this is very important, as you
will be squeezing off the water present in sabudana. else there are chances for
the water present in sabudana to burst while you deep fry.
• Make a dough and prepare small patties.
• Deep fry the patties in hot oil.
• Fry on hight to medium flame till they turn golden brown
flipping in between.
• After 3-4 minutes flip the vadas over with the help of
fork.
• Fry from other side as well. Remove the vadas in a plate.
• finally, serve sabudana vada hot along with coconut
chutney or upawasachi chutney.
Tip : You can may also
add boiled 3 - 4 potatoes to make perfect vada.
