Lahyancha Chivda is a traditional Maharashtrian snack. popped Jowar Seeds / sorghum tastes really good and is very healthy. Popped Jowar (Lahya) is flavoured with a few spices to make this quick and healthy snack with low fat.
Ingredients :
1) 2 Bowls popped Jowar Seeds / sorghum
2) 4-5 Tbsp Roasted Peanuts.
3) 1 Tbsp Cummin seeds
4) 1 Tbsp Sugar
5) 1 Tbsp Red Chilli Powder.
6) 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil.
7) 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
8) 1 Tbsp Turmeric powder
Method :
1) Heat oil in kadai / Pan
2) Add Cummin seeds once they crackle. then add Roasted Peanuts .
3) Cook till the groundnuts are fried well.
4) Add Asafoetida ,Turmeric powder.
5) Turn off the gas.Lets wait for tempring is cooling down.
6) After cooling ,add the red chilli powder,sugar, and salt.
7) Finally add Mix and add the popped jowar seeds.
8) Mix till most of the popped grains are covered with the spices.
9) Cool and store in an airtight container.
10) Serve Javarichya Lahyancha Chivda as it is or topped with chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.its looks very testy.
