Ingredients :
1)4-5 medium tomatoes2)freshly grated coconut
3)freshly grated ginger
4)1 Tbsp peanut Powder
5)1 tsp chili powder
6)1 kashmiri red chilli powder
7)1 Tsp of sugar
8)salt to taste
9)Pinch of asafoetida
10)1 tsp mustard seeds
11)1 tsp cumin seeds
12)8-10 curry leaves
13)2 tbsp oil
Method :
1)In Cooker add 3 cups of water & tomatos and pressure cooked for 3-4 whistles.allow them to cool for some time and discard the skin.2)Take Mixer jar,Add peeled tomatoes,grated coconut, ginger, using about 2 cups water, grind to very smooth puree.Transfer in a bowl and set aside.
3)Heat oil in a kadai.add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and cover. Let the seeds crackle, then add curry leaves, kashmiri red chilie amd red chili powder and pinch of hing or asafoetida .
4)Saute for few seconds and add the tomato puree.
5)2 tsp salt,1 tbsp sugar ,1 Tbsp Peanut Powder and Cook all the ingredients for 2-3 minutes.
6)Let it come to complete boil.cook pto 4-5 minutes
7)Now Tomato Saar are ready to serve.Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
This tomato saar goes really well with hot and rice with some papad, pickles, vegetables.
